The official cycling transfer window started on August 1, unleashing a deluge of rider changes in preparation for the 2023 season.

There’s still time for further signings, but many of the top riders have already committed to new teams.

Throughout the fall and winter, we will add every confirmed signing for 2023 to this page, establishing a team-by-team list of ins and outs, and keeping tabs on the newest transfer rumors in the professional peloton.

Economies in 2022 and 2023

There hasn’t been a huge wave of famous riders approaching the end of their contracts in 2022, but many important riders are expected to make a transfer in 2023. Mark Cavendish is the biggest name still mulling about his future.

The sprinter has announced his departure from QuickStep-AlphaVinyl and has hired a new agency to get a new two-year contract that will give him the opportunity to attempt to break the record for most Tour de France stage victories before calling it quits.

Richard Carapaz, Thymen Arensman, Adam Yates, and Wilco Kelderman, stars of The Grand Tour, are also leaving the show for Season 3.

Carapaz, the winner of the Giro d’Italia in 2019, has left the Ineos Grenadiers after three years to join the ailing EF Education-EasyPost team, while Yates has joined Tim Wellens in transferring to UAE Squad Emirates after being connected to his former BikeExchange-Jayco team.

Arensman, age 22, has been targeted by Ineos as a replacement as the club looks to restock its roster with a group of promising young players. At the same time, Kelderman has made the transfer to join the already-impressive group of stars that Jumbo-Visma has assembled with the additions of Attila Valter and Jan Tratnik.

For the next season, the Dutch squad has also acquired Paris-Roubaix winner Dylan van Baarle from Ineos.

And Alexander Kristoff, winner of both Flanders and San Remo, is switching teams, leaving the WorldTour for his “home” squad of Uno-X. Tim Merlier, formerly of Alpecin-Deceuninck, will take up for Cavendish in the sprinting position for QuickStep-AlphaVinyl, which also welcomes Jan Hirt and Casper Pedersen.

Lorena Wiebes, a top sprinter for Team DSM, is the most notable woman to switch teams, taking advantage of a clause in her contract that allows her to join the Dutch superpower SD Worx. Another notable change is the departure of Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio, who is joining the anticipated new Women’s WorldTour outfit AG Insurance-NXTG.

Meanwhile, Mavi Garcia, the star of the UAE Team ADQ, is departing for Liv Racing-Xstra, while Amanda Spratt is jumping ship from BikeExchange-Jayco to Trek-Segafredo.

Alica Barnes leaves Canyon-Sram for Human Powered Health, while Liane Lippert and Floortje Mackaij have signed with Movistar.
